The candidates are Kartumu King, incumbent Jane Prince, Mary Anne Quiroz, and David Thom.
King and Thom are not credible candidates. It’s disappointing that Mary Anne Quiroz does not appear to be running an active campaign. She didn’t show up to a recent candidate forum. Her campaign isn’t responding to requests for more information from journalists or organizations with questions about her positions. I wanted to be able to endorse someone other than Jane Prince — who once represented Linden Hills as their NIMBY lawyer at a Minneapolis City Council hearing, and who’s gone on to become the St. Paul council member who votes against change. For example: housing, bike lanes. But I can’t endorse any candidate in Ward 7.
Naomi Kritzer endorsed Prince for being the only credible candidate running an active campaign, but makes some good points about her housing positions not being consistent with her votes.
